Bob has more than 22 years of senior level experience in the IT industry working in Europe, USA and Asia Pacific.

Bob has been a key player in building Gartner's presence in Asia Pacific from one employees in February 1995 to a staff of more than 350 located in 12 countries. He received Gartner's CEO Award in 2002.

Bob advises the prime ministers of Singapore, Thailand, India and Australia, along with many state and provincial leaders and IT ministers across all of the Asia Pacific region.

Bob is a member of the Experts Committee on IT in Shanghai, appointed to that position by the mayor.

Bob is working closely with twelve senior organizing executives to help make the 2008 Beijing Olympics the "Digital Olympics".

At the World Congress of IT in Adelaide in 2002, Bob was among the presenters who also included former US president Bill Clinton and Australia prime minister John Howard.

Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Hayward was the owner of a company that distributed Tivoli Systems products across Asia Pacific.
